The first word of the album could just as well summarize it: 'Bang!'. On their new album Midnight In A Moonless Dream, the Los Angeles band The Buttertones is making waves! While their previous album Gravedigging could have been the soundtrack to a good spaghetti western, this new album digs even deeper and takes us into the very dark atmosphere of 70s New York. It's a heist on a moonless night where echoes of Suicide, Bauhaus, The Cramps, and the Deadbeats can be heard for the violence and the saxophone. Everything here is new: a new sound with strings for the first time, but also a new approach to writing and composing together. Garage, gothic, rock 'n' roll, surf, no wave, jazz, post-punk, this new album with multiple influences is a dark Lynchian labyrinth in which it's good to get lost.
