The New York afro-soul collective The Budos Band takes a rock turn on its fifth album 'Burnt Offering': After the Libyan adventures of the duo Dead Combo and its offbeat instrumental western pop, head to Staten Island (New York) with the instrumental afro-soul collective The Budos Band, which releases its fifth album "Burnt Offering" on October 21 on the Daptone Records label. A band formed in 2004 that, after long distilling a complex and venomous blend of afrobeat, soul, funk and 70s soundtracks, is moving toward psychedelic rock and a darker sound. Guitarist Tom Brenneck and his crew offer us here a jubilant cocktail of funk, ethio-jazz driven by rock arrangements and riffs celebrating the spirit of Black Sabbath
