The Blue Aeroplanes are the oldest band in Bristol and a true art-rock institution that has inspired generations of post-punk and alternative groups, including R.E.M., Radiohead, and Manic Street Preachers. "Magical Realism - The Best Of The Blue Aeroplanes 1985-2025" is the first definitive anthology organized by the band, featuring tracks from their catalog, recently remastered by Phil Kinrade at AIR Mastering. The collection includes 23 tracks, with independent anthems like "... Et Stones" and "Jacket Hangs," fan favorites such as the classics "Fun" and "Bury Your Love Like Treasure," as well as more recent songs like "Dead Tree! Dead Tree!" which has become a highlight of the band's legendary live sets. Two bonus tracks are also included - "Showing Off To Impress The Girls," a recording by the band Art Objects, pre-Blue Aeroplanes, and "I Will Love You," an exclusive demo of a brand new song.
