The new album, featuring James Dean Bradfield (Manic Street Preachers) and Sterling Campbell (David Bowie, Duran Duran). The Anchoress is the stage name of Welsh multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter Catherine Anne Davies. "The Art Of Losing" is her second album, following "Confessions of A Romance Novelist," also on Kscope / Snapper. It's very much in the vein of MANIC STREET PREACHERS, whose singer James Dean Bradfield is featured on one track. "The Art Of Losing" is a progressive pop-rock album that addresses the loss of loved ones. It was written and recorded while she was going through painful periods of mourning, finding solace in a series of side projects: the album "In Memory of My Feelings" in collaboration with Bernard Butler, a duet with Manic Street Preachers on "Resistance Is Futile," and joining Simple Minds, where she spent much of the last five years playing on the albums "Big Music" (2015) and "Walk Between Worlds" (2018).
