Until now, these few words were the only ones the group had spoken collectively and publicly. THE ACID is none other than the gathering of 3 of the most prominent producers of the moment: RY X, the Australian gem spotted at Innervision, STEVE NALEPA, music technology professor, producer, composer, and ADAM FREELAND, globe-trotting DJ, self-proclaimed optimist, and creator of the subversive mainstream hit "We Want Your Soul." When they meet, the chemistry flows very quickly and very well between RY X and FREELAND, who quickly find affinities in their respective visions of experimental house music. It is therefore quite naturally that they begin to produce together at RY's house during a stay of FREELAND in LA. Having a session scheduled in NALEPA's studio, they all meet there. From this meeting is born "THE ACID," the group's first self-titled EP composed and produced in 9 days. Naturally, an album followed: "THE ACID birthed itself," as FREELAND says. 'Liminal' might never have seen the light of day, but the result seems perfectly natural from these three in-tune minds, who relentlessly seek to shake up what one might expect. The members of THE ACID are all tireless talented innovators. The scope of this music is immense; it remains grounded thanks to a visceral bass sound while evoking the celestial through euphoric sensations. They are THE ACID.
