Released in 1956, "The Magnificent Thad Jones" is Thad Jones's third album on Blue Note. Considered one of his greatest classics, this album was recorded alongside Billy Mitchell (saxophone), Barry Harris (piano), Percy Heath (double bass), Kenny Burrell (guitar), and Max Roach (drums). This classic is available again in a 180-gram vinyl edition.
