The Scottish group Texas and the American northern-soul pianist Spooner Oldham (Aretha Franklin, Neil Young, Bob Dylan) collaborate on a joint album: The Muscle Shoals Sessions. Recorded at the legendary Fame Recording Studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the historic tracks from Texas's repertoire are revisited here in a piano-voice soul-gospel style, without artifice, without cheating, in the simplest form.
