You don’t come away unscathed from listening to Terrenoire’s first album, and the same goes for this follow-up, made up of 7 unreleased tracks, and titled " La Mort et La Lumière ". At the helm of this truly one-of-a-kind project are two brothers, Raphaël and Théo Herrerias, who grew up in the working-class Terrenoire neighborhood on the outskirts of Saint-Étienne. A duo that never imagined a life outside music. Yet, age difference obliges, their collaboration really took off when the younger brother joined the older one in Paris in 2017. The artistic meeting of these two temperaments gave birth to these sensitive, unconventional songs. If, at the beginning, the roles were clearly defined between the two young men - Raphaël handling the lyrics, the skeleton of the melodies and the vocals, Théo enriching the compositions - the boundaries became more porous during the creation of this fascinating Les Forces Contraires. Moving with class between poetry and realism, between electronic music and chanson, this first album speaks of love, death, and always at the end of the tunnel of these passions and intimate dramas, the radiance of a solar energy that is largely positive.
