Music by Teitur on lyrics by Roy Freirich: Gmail Needs My Password Again - Forgot My Sunglasses - Turn Signal - I Touched My Face - Post Office - Forgot My Sunglasses II - Filling out a Form - Everything is Somewhere else - There Will Be Places - Forgot My Sunglasses III Teitur produced and co-wrote Nolwenn Leroy's album Le Cheshire Cat et moi, released in 2009. On a sunny early summer day in 2020, author Roy Freirich left his home in Malibu, California, to go to the post office to send a book to his Faroese musician friend Teitur. But when he arrived at the post office and was told the astronomical cost of sending the book halfway around the world, he returned home, book in hand. Another, more economical form of correspondence continued between the two artists, as they shared their life experiences during the pandemic. Excerpts from emails sent by Roy Freirich were retrieved and refined by Teitur, who turned them into lyrics and used them as inspiration for the music he composed for the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra and their new album: SONGS FROM A SOCIAL DISTANCE. On this album, the music for voice and big band is inspired by the frustrations and obstacles encountered during what should have been a simple visit to the post office.
