Teho Teardo and Blixa Bargeld return with their third album, almost eight years after Nerissimo, but time compresses and expands like an accordion. Especially these two stolen years, gone without a trace during the pandemic. The new album is titled Christian & Mauro, and the use of their real first names in the title suggests a more personal landscape, allowing them to revisit elements of the past like Bisogna Morire, an incredible passacaglia, a 17th-century danse macabre, reinvented with a contemporary perspective. Their musical roots also looking to the future, another reflection stems from a book by astrophysicist Carlo Rovelli, opening a new view of the universe. The album was produced by Teho Teardo, Blixa Bargeld, and Boris Wilsdorf in Rome, at Basement Recordings, and in Berlin, at andereBaustelle. This music once again connects the sky between Rome and Berlin, and the tour following the release will begin on November 19 in Rome and take them across Europe. Teho and Blixa will be touring with Laura Bisceglia on cello and Gabriele Coen on bass clarinet. A string quartet will also be on stage at each concert.
