Over the past eight years, Teenage Wrist has continually evolved its sound, a process that reaches its peak with their third full-length album, « Still Love ». Reaching new heights in scope and execution, the duo - Marshall Gallagher (singer, guitarist, bassist) and Anthony Salazar (drummer, singer, percussionist) - produced the album themselves in order to craft their most extensive collection of songs to date from start to finish. The result is a collection of songs produced by the band itself, which borrowed vintage equipment, enlisted friends such as Doug "SA" Martinez, singer/turntablist of 311, and Softcult, and incorporated tasteful pop sensibilities to create a collection of songs that redefines the band's sound while remaining true to its guitar-driven roots. From the atmospheric "Sunshine" to the midtempo rocker "Dark Sky", the album will undoubtedly appeal to fans of distorted guitars and crunchy chords. However, this is only one aspect of the album and Teenage Wrist is not ashamed to admit that there is a strong pop sensibility on the album that shows how much they have grown as songwriters since « Earth is a Black Hole » in 2021. From the brain-invading ballad "Something Good" to the electronic vibe of "Diorama", the album is full of unexpected moments reminiscent of Radiohead's spirit of experimentation. The powerful bond between these two collaborators is at the heart of Teenage Wrist's music and, more than any other factor, it is evident in every moment of « Still love ». « There was a certain feeling that music gave me when I was a kid and this is honestly the first time on a record that I feel like we have almost achieved that feeling », says Gallagher about the final result.
