Lavilliers and the great orchestras have regularly interacted. We remember his tribute to Léo Ferré at the Théâtre du Chatelet in 2006 with the Pasdeloup symphonic orchestra… Just a year ago, he gave a unique concert at the radio house with the Radio France orchestra. The experience inspired the singer to continue the thread of that evening by recording part of his repertoire with a large classical orchestra. After "Sous un soleil énorme," conceived during the pandemic and at a distance from his musicians, the singer wanted to reconnect with the spirit of "old-fashioned" recordings, finding himself right in the middle of his musicians for the recording of an entire album. This was done without nostalgia, rather with the spirit of a transmitter that characterizes him, as if he were also telling us a bit of the history of recorded music through this gesture. Accompanied by composer and arranger Cyrille Aufort, a symphonic orchestra of more than fifty musicians, and four companions (Xavier Tribolet on keyboards, Antoine Reininger on bass, Michaël Lapie on drums, and Vincent Faucher on guitar), Bernard Lavilliers invites us to witness the transformation of 14 of his great songs… 2 vinyl records with printed inner sleeves in four colors - containing all the lyrics.
