The wasla is a particular form of the musical suite, developed by different Arab traditions, such as the nuba in the Maghreb or the fasl in Syria. Wasla is a creation developed by Tarek Abdallah, Egyptian oud player and composer, proposing to reconnect with the Golden Age of this musical tradition through a personal approach to the Egyptian musical suite, both in terms of composition and in performance and improvisation. Tarek is accompanied by Adel Shams el Din, an Egyptian traditional percussionist. Adel mainly plays the riqq, a classical Arabic tambourine
