Tahiti 80, the cult band from Rouen, is back with a tenth album titled "Hello Hello". This new record revolves around the desire to combine the spontaneity of the stage, the chemistry of a group, and the reality of studio work, Xavier Boyer, singer and main songwriter, explains: “We had a slight frustration regarding the previous album, Here With You released in 2022, the pandemic had forced us to record each at home. When we saw that our new demos were going in this live direction, we looked for the ideal place to capture that spirit.” It was last summer at the Paraphernalia studio, in the Niort countryside, that Xavier Boyer, Pedro Resende, Médéric Gontier, Raphaël Léger, and Hadrien Grange refined their musical interactions for ten days. The vocal takes and additional synthesizers were then finalized between Paris, Rouen, and Montpellier. Integrated early in the process, Stéphane Laporte aka Domotic came to bring his distinctive experimental touch to the arrangements and production.
The twelve songs that make up "Hello Hello" were conceived as a cohesive suite, highlighting the creativity, diversity, and maturity of a band that celebrates its twenty-five years of career this year. With an unmistakable approach to indie pop, timeless melodies, and sophisticated production, 'Hello Hello' should easily reinforce the unique status of Tahiti 80 and esteemed personalities on the international music scene.
