It was with the single Hot Love, which immediately went to No. 1 in the British charts in September 1971, that a true Rexmania was unleashed, with no equivalent in pop history except the Beatlemania of 1963. Electric Warrior was the best-selling album of the year in the UK. Marc Bolan became the glam rock icon of the early seventies.
