Description

Swell Maps, among the first punk bands to create an independent label, were pioneers of alternative music. They blended punk and experimentation, influencing bands like Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Stereolab, and Blur. Despite a brief career, they released four singles and two cult albums, and their records continue to attract new generations of listeners. Since 2021, Jowe Head has revived the project with concerts and live collaborations. These performances have led to the recording of a new album, C21. The album brings together tracks written between 1979 and today, including unreleased material and reinterpretations. It retains the adventurous spirit of the band, combining catchy melodies with bold experimentation. Remaining true to the DIY ethic, Swell Maps continue their activities with concerts and releases in Europe.
