'Come When The Raven Calls' is the second album from Suzanne Langille and Neel Murgai after over twenty years of performing together. Suzanne Langille merges the raw edge of American spiritual blues with Neel Murgai's vocal harmonies and trance-like percussion. The duo is unmatched in their timeless approach to song, a structure inspired by melody or the deafening attack of the Persian daf. Lyricist and singer, Langille is dedicated to words. She draws the listener into a world of immense grief and rage. These nine songs are testimonies about death, sadness and loss. Yet, in "Bury Myself Where I Stand," a song written by Langille's sister, the late blues singer Laurette Langille, she calls for defiance and freedom. Suzanne Langille's first recordings were made on a series of rare self-produced LPs in the 1980s with guitarist Loren Connors. Neel Murgai, on the other hand, is a multi-instrumentalist performer, composer, and co-founder of the Brooklyn Raga Massive, a collective of musicians inspired by raga.
