Counting Sunsets

Counting Sunsets subtly extends SUSS’s slow-motion Americana, tracing new lines across the terrain they have mapped throughout their albums for Northern Spy. As in their previous works, the band explores vast desert horizons, cosmic drifts, and the dark laments of the pedal steel, but this time a twilight stillness pervades the whole. Counting Sunsets unfolds as a succession of episodes and reflections: a series of small luminous moments, like neon lights flickering at dusk. Each track arrives with the serene confidence of a band in harmony with space, timbre, decay, atmosphere, and melody. A gentle concern for memory and the slow erosion of time. The light fades and the air carries the sound.
