In 2020, the long-time band of musician Steve Ciolek, The Sidekicks, ended its activities, leaving him for the first time in his adult life without a band. Ciolek never stopped writing, but the endless possibilities available to him led him to create at a different pace. As his reservoir of potential songs began to grow, Ciolek called on familiar faces to help him refine his new project Superviolet, enlisting Matty Sanders from The Sidekicks on drums and Zac Little, the mastermind behind Saintseneca, to assist him in writing, recording, and producing. Infinite Spring is full of discoveries and promises, without sacrificing the warmth that has always made Ciolek's writing so timeless and satisfying. The album feels like a blend of his many musical interests, woven together into something unique; throughout the album, sparse folk intersects with indie soul, and complex arrangements and accents of 60s and 70s pop rock overlay the charming nonchalance of Midwest punk.
