SUPERNAIVE are two brothers of sound and blood who live between Paris and Tokyo, blending electronic and acoustic music in a unique and delicate way. After the success of their EP 'Dazed & Confused' in June 2017, they released 'Lions & Pigs' in April 2018, and are preparing the arrival of their first album: 'Nekomata'. The brothers chose to embody two dreamlike characters with almost identical faces. Masks, synonymous with eternal youth in Japanese Noh theatre, cover their faces, leaving the music to bring their poetic doubles to life. This first album, composed between Paris and Tokyo and taking its name from the shape-shifting cat of Japanese bestiary, is to date SUPERNAIVE's most ambitious project: 13 eclectic tracks between the roundness of « Dazed & Confused » and the saturated dissonances of « Lions & Pigs », with RnB, Pop and Rock accents. Here the two brothers reconcile shadow and light in an inspired and accomplished production. The use of old machines, unearthed from the cemetery of analog synthesis by our archaeologist artists, contributes to the bittersweet aesthetic, poetry and sensuality of this record, which you will hum from the first listen and still discover on the tenth. While each track has its own identity, often strengthened by guest vocals, the sonic texture has its own as well and gives the project its unity and density. Brought to life through dedicated graphic content, the tracks can tell their own story independently of the album's and are suited to single releases. Four videos accompany the release of Nekomata, for the tracks « Under Control », « Warrior », « Forget Me Now » and « Give Me Love ». Directed by Antoine Bal (A$ap Rocky, MadeinTYO etc.) and filmed in Tokyo, Paris and the South of France, these films beautifully showcase SUPERNAIVE's singular poetic universe. This album marks the starting point of their new Live Tour, which will take place in 2020.
