Supergrass

Description

Après a second album with psychedelic and seventies hues, slightly more contemplative than the first (that wasn't very difficult), Gaz Coombes's band returns with this record that almost perfectly synthesizes what it does best: write beautiful songs, arrange them superbly (the band has become a quartet with the arrival on keyboards of Rob Coombes, Gaz's brother) and perform them with fervor and nonchalance. Dry guitars, strings and various instruments enrich here a music that still knows how to give pride of place to electricity and where one still finds a few welcome hits, such as the irresistible "Moving" and "Pumping On Your Stereo". By throwing a bridge toward the past, Supergrass succeeds in making us believe that rock is timeless.
