After four decades of friendship and collaboration, Daniel Miller (founder of Mute Records) and Gareth Jones (engineer, producer, and innovative artist) unveil the release of their first album, Electronic Music Improvisations Volume 1, a collection of eight improvised modular tracks recorded live in different London studios in spring and summer 2019. It will be released on May 21, 2021, on Mute's recently resurrected Parallel Series label and [PIAS]. What they accumulated during these 2019 sessions is a suite of evolving tracks, each containing layers of atmospheric sounds. The tracks on this album have a timeless quality that evokes the original sound of electronic music's early days while also sounding resolutely modern. In these tracks, one can hear the almost symbiotic connection that Gareth and Daniel share.
