Summer Cannibals got their start on the Portland, Oregon scene, sharing bills and receiving encouragement from peers like The Thermals. The band released two excellent albums on their own label, New Moss Records, including "Show Us Your Mind" in 2015, recorded by legendary sound engineer Larry Crane and recently hailed as one of the best albums of 2015 by Jim DeRogatis, co-host of the show Sound Opinions. Since then, Summer Cannibals have spent considerable time on the road, earning critical acclaim and winning over many new fans with their raw, no-frills energy. So it seemed only natural that when they decided to sign with a label, they chose Kill Rock Stars, which has a long tradition of producing bold female-fronted bands like Bikini Kill and Sleater-Kinney. "Summer Cannibals bring us back to our roots," says Portia Sabin, president of KRS. "Jessica is a talented songwriter and the band is incredibly electrifying live; it's a perfect match." The new album, Full Of It, is the band's major work to date. Recorded at the incredible analog studio The Dock with producer Chris Woodhouse (Thee Oh Sees, Wild Flag), this LP represents a true leap forward, the kind of leap every band dreams of making at least once in their career. Driven by a new explosive rhythm section consisting of drummer Devon Shirley and bassist Jenny Logan, the 11 tracks deliver a perfect blend of sass, boundless energy, and wall-shaking volume.
