Here, Sue returns and delivers for the first time live recordings of some of her early hits, her deep covers, and a few surprises too!
Arriving for the first time in Austin in 1991 at the request of nightclub impresario Clifford Antone, it was during this time in Austin that she cut her teeth among the famous Texas guitarists like Albert Collins and The Vaughan Brothers. It all comes down to a hot Friday night in Austin, I was playing in a packed club. It's true. And it's tough as nails.
This is Sue at the top of her game. Last May, Foley received the Blues Music Award for Traditional Blues Female Artist (Koko Taylor Award) in Memphis TN – an award she also won in 2022 and 2020.
She was also recently honored with the title of Guitarist of the Year and Blues Act of the Year at the Austin Music Awards 2023 and Guitarist of the Year at the Maple Blues Awards 2023. Her latest album, Pinky's Blues, won the award for Best Traditional Blues Album at the Blues Music Awards 2022.
