Colour Theory is a new milestone in the discography of Submotion Orchestra, an extension of their cinematic and texture-rich electronica for a record of great richness and impressive mastery with an unprecedented epic scope. Enlisting several prestigious collaborators including Andrew Ashong (Sound Signature / Which Way), Royce Wood Jr., Catching Flies, and of course the impressive singer Ruby Wood, Submotion Orchestra demonstrates on Colour Theory a great mastery and dynamism, of which the first single "Kimono," with a groove reminiscent of John Talabot, is the best example. After the success of the album Alium (2014), Submotion Orchestra takes a new step with their fourth album Colour Theory. Renowned for their stunning live performances, the band has this time made the conscious decision to focus their energy and attention on production, creating an album of great mastery and undeniable epic scope, with attention to detail making it even more dynamic and contemporary than its predecessors.
