Luca Santucci and Ben Fitzgerald, who have spent the last few years developing the ten electro-soul tracks that follow their eponymous 2012 debut album, have once again struck a balance between unsettling synth sounds and introspective songs. Balance is the key theme here. With Fitzgerald at the helm of production and operating the machines, the sound is rawer than on their previous album. Left-field pop with dark, icy edges, somewhere between R&B and cold wave. Santucci brings the heart, along with his painful, obsessive lyrics and a desire for something more serious in his delivery. The duo's talents complement each other perfectly throughout.
