Stereolab announces the fifth installment of its compilation album series 'Switched On', 'Pulse Of The Early Brain [Switched On Volume 5]' with the track 'Robot Riot'. Robot Riot was originally written for a sculpture created by Charles Long, an artist with whom Stereolab had previously collaborated in 1995 for the project "Music For The Amorphous Body Study Center". With 21 tracks spread across three vinyl albums, this is the most concise "Switched On" to date, bringing together singles, B-sides, collaborations, radio sessions, and other rarities that have not yet been released in the series. It includes two tracks from their 1997 EP Simple Headphone Mind, created in collaboration with Nurse With Wound, the 1992 Low Fi EP, tracks from various editions of the 2008 album Chemical Chords, a live version of "Cybele's Reverie" recorded at the Hollywood Bowl, and much more.
