A World of Peace Must Come

Description

A World Of Peace Must Come is a forgotten chapter in BRIAN WILSON's career. This album was recorded in 1969 by STEPHEN JOHN KALINICH - the legendary BEACH BOYS songwriter - at the famous band leader's home. But the recording was quickly lost and remained unreleased until now. After 40 years, the album finally resurfaces, not only restoring KALINICH's place in BEACH BOYS history, but especially in the political and cultural landscape of late 1960s Los Angeles. A convinced anti-war activist, KALINICH could have written turbulent songs like most angry young Americans did at the time. But instead, he contented himself with writing spiritual, very "peace & love" lyrics, in total harmony with the society of the time. And this "peaceful" atmosphere is not only conveyed through the lyrics. On certain tracks, one finds nature sounds, such as the chirping of crickets or dog barks. The album also offers a booklet with anecdotes written by ALAN BOYD, the BEACH BOYS archivist, unreleased photos, and all the lyrics. A psychotic poetry album. A timeless snapshot of an entire era and its mindset.
