Description

Columbia/Legacy is proud to announce the release on May 20 of The Highwaymen Live - American Outlaws, a new deluxe box set made up of 3 CDs and 1 DVD (or a Blu-Ray) that lets you discover or rediscover the first legendary country 'supergroup' through numerous concerts, including the complete and unreleased broadcast of a concert on CD and DVD (or Blu-ray).
The Highwaymen, composed of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson, was the first authentic country 'supergroup', a legendary quartet of sacred monsters who paved the way for the revolutionary outlaw country movement in the United States.
An essential musical and cultural influence, the Highwaymen delighted us for about ten years between 1985 and 1995. With three albums to their name, including singles at the top of the charts of the time - including their very first single « Highwayman », which won the Best Country Song award at the 1986 Grammy Awards -, the Highwaymen are also renowned for their legendary concerts that will forever remain etched in the memory of those who were lucky enough to attend them.
The Highwaymen Live - American Outlaws includes 2 live audio CDs recorded at New York's Nassau Coliseum on March 14, 1990 and a CD made up of tracks recorded live at various concerts held as part of the Farm Aid festival.
The DVD is an unreleased feature-length film of the concert given at New York's Nassau Coliseum on March 14, 1990, specially digitized for this release from the original tapes.
