Winter Resort Music

Description

The inspiration for “Winter Resort Music” comes from a childhood passion for winter sports. It’s all about phantasmagoric synths, radiophonic electronics, subconscious TV memories, and wonder at what those athletes were able to do on the slopes when you lived in the suburbs. Who can forget the radiant figure skaters, dancing in the public’s mind? A perfect beauty that melted the hearts of girls and boys around the world. Sunday afternoons spent watching the guys launch themselves in long jump into the vastness of the white cosmos. I never really understood what was going on, but I just thought: “I’d like to be in the chalets with these people, sipping mulled wine. An extraterrestrial, inaccessible world, where fabulous people accomplished fabulous things.” The Portuguese Stellarays were watching too and distilled these memories into an authentic and glorious reinvention of the way those memories still live within us. Winter Resort Music is a powerful memory bomb that captures what we know and enriches it to make it better. A prism of nostalgia that evokes the purity of the white veil. This magnificent release, adorned with artwork by Nick Taylor, a pillar of Castles in Space, is a perfect example of library music, beautifully assembled by Bruno, Centeio and Corinna.
