In 1957, jazz producer and impresario Norman Granz willingly paired the greatest jazz musicians of his time with the Canadian trio of Oscar Peterson (nicknamed the "Maharaja of the keyboard" by Duke Ellington). The quartet formed by the absolute master of the saxophone and the piano virtuoso, accompanied by his usual musicians: Herb Ellis on guitar and Ray Brown on double bass, resulted in a miraculous fusion. This is very great jazz, harmonious and crystalline, created by exceptional men. On the menu are standards such as I Want to Be Happy, Sunday, Pennies From Heaven, and compositions by Getz like Tour's End or Bronx Blues. Excerpt from the ideal Fnac discography 2017.
