Joe Satriani is one of the most loved and respected guitarists in the world. Although endowed with immense technique, he is the opposite of stereotypical "shredders." Satriani is actually mainly known for his sense of melody, his Rock sounds drawn from the 70s, and his solos full of feeling. In the early 80s, before launching his solo career, Joe Satriani was part of the band Squares. A power trio evolving between Van Halen and The Everly Brothers, Squares played music situated between Heavy Metal, Rock, Punk, and New Wave. Today, Squares is released, an album compiling 11 demos recorded at the time, restored and remixed by John Cuniberti, Joe Satriani's faithful sound engineer.
