The Scottish pop quartet Spinning Coin will release their second album Hyacinth on February 21 via Geographic, the label of The Pastels. Recorded in France at Black Box Studios, Hyacinth is an album full of poetry and light, through which Spinning Coin unveils an indie guitar pop with rough and elusive accents, blending deep lyrics and sharp choruses. At the heart of these pop songs, there are moments of joy and also melancholy, as well as a certain fury, linked to the group's political vision, tracing a world in constant evolution. Spinning Coin's new album will appeal as much to fans of Orange Juice and The Pastels as to those of (Sandy) Alex G or Girl Ray.
