Since Endless Summer, we have been drawn to the music of Christian Fennesz. Where many artists using laptops barely go beyond electronic noise without true engagement, Fennesz manages to create a universe of unprecedented and rich sounds. Christian's idea to collaborate with Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse immediately excited us. The two artists had already played together several times and both felt there was still much to explore in this collaboration. Just two days in December 2007 were enough to record over 40 minutes of this sublime meeting between Fennesz and Sparklehorse. Carefully crafted oddities and an immense source of inspiration make these recordings unique, both in style and in this particular series. Songs and soundscapes of rare beauty, with striking atmospheres, where abstract sounds and finely crafted traditional song structures meet, and where acoustic and electronic instruments create a remarkable ambiance.
