In early 2008, Jack Hamill, aka SPACE DIMENSION CONTROLLER, released his first album on Clone Royal Oak at the age of 18. While he is known for celestial melodies pulsed by very house music rhythms, Orange Melamine maintains the cosmic aspect but is distinctly stranger and more experimental. The album has a personal touch and intertwines supernatural sounds and translucent synths, all constructed in perfect harmony. It evokes something of Boards of Canada, Brian Eno, or William Basinski, with an atmospheric ambient feel, and sounds referencing 80s and 90s sci-fi films and anime, reminiscent of old VHS tapes. With this album, Hamill demonstrates his ability to produce complex and futuristic tracks, full of personality. Original without being difficult to access, enjoyable while being distinctive, Orange Melamine is just the latest proof of SPACE DIMENSION CONTROLLER's talent.
