DISCOVER THE REMIXED VERSION OF THE LEGENDARY AMERICAN ROCK BAND'S FORGOTTEN DEBUT ALBUM This deluxe edition of Ultramega OK is the product of Soundgarden's long-standing idea: to remix and correct their first album. Ultramega OK was originally released in 1988 via SST Records. The band, dissatisfied with the work of their producer Drew Canulette and the final mix, quickly wanted to remix the album for subsequent pressings. But during the Ultramega OK tour, Soundgarden signed with major American label A&M and released the immense Louder Than Love a few months later, which opened the doors to ultra(-mega)-success for them while the Ultramega OK remix project was put on hold. In 2016, after years of international success, a breakup, a reformation, many albums and tours, the band finally recovered the original Ultramega OK tapes and found time to remix them. The four men surrounded themselves with their friend and engineer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Mudhoney, Screaming Trees, Skin Yard), who focused on the album and corrected its weaknesses: he fixed the sound that the band hated. Soundgarden took advantage of this re-release to put out six unreleased versions of Ultramega OK tracks, recorded in 1987 on an 8-track tape by Jack Endino and Chris Hanzsek at Reciprocal Recording in Seattle.
