Roots and Rastafari music was recorded at Studio One by Clement "Sir Coxsone" Dodd from the early 1960s to the 1990s, and this album reflects the depth and diversity of the label's roots music. From Dudley Sibbley's slow-ska to Cedric Im Brooks' deep instrumental jazz pieces over classic roots rhythms like "Satta Massagana", to Winston Mathews' astonishing, eerie version of Bob Marley and the Wailers' "Sun Is Shining". The Zion All Stars feature Count Ossie's Burro Rastafari drums and the mystical revelation of Rastafari.
