Soul Jazz Records' new compilation, Sounds of the Universe: Art + Sound 2012-15, is a double album (and two double-vinyls) bringing together electronic music from the most avant-garde artists and producers of the moment. This collection brings together an incredible range of contemporary artists such as Chicago's Afro-futurist genius Hieroglyphic Being; one of the most respected underground and techno artists in the world, Kassem Mosse (aka Gunnar Wendell/Siege of Troy); Moodymann's protégé Andres (Detroit); Ras G, artist from the Los Angeles Brainfeeder label and produced by Flying Lotus; and many more! The first CD is composed of songs exclusively made for the Sounds of the Universe (Soul Jazz Record) label. These were recorded for the Art + Sound series between 2012 and 2015 as original and rare vinyls sold in the Soul Jazz Records shop in Soho (London). The second CD is a collection of exclusive tracks composed by Seven Davis Jr, Stingray from the duo Drexciya, deep house virtuoso Mike Huckaby, Glasgow's noise-punk band Golden Teacher etc. These songs only exist in this format.
