Since their inception, Sorcerer have been tagged as “tragic doom” – an apropos, but not entirely definitive, tag, and one that's never been truer than on their latest album, "Lamenting of the Innocent." On this record, the Swedish quintet returns with a new lineup featuring longtime guitarists Kristian Niemann and Peter Hallgren, vocalist Anders Engberg, bassist Justin Biggs, and former drummer Richard Evensand, all of whom bring something new and fresh to Sorcerer. The band members, who produced the album themselves, are self-proclaimed perfectionists, accepting nothing but the best in every aspect of the recording process. The only collaborators involved in the making of Lamenting of The Innocent were Ronnie Björnström, who both mixed and mastered the album, and Conny Welén, who contributed to the songwriting.
