CHASSEUR D'ETOILES

Description

Armed with a very personal pen, Soprano manages to captivate his audience thanks to lyrics and messages that are just as moving as they are positive and unifying. After his album Phoenix, certified Diamond with nearly 750,000 copies sold, a tour of more than 70 dates and more than one million spectators, including two sold-out Stade Vélodrome shows in October 2019, Soprano announced the upcoming release of his new album Chasseur d'étoiles by taking off into space from his ship Le Frégate. After the single “Près des étoiles” (+12M views on YouTube), the first excerpt from this album, came the major track “Dingue”, perfectly establishing the concept inspired by the 80s, both in the music and in the imagery and styling. In 2022, Soprano will return to the stage with his Chasseur d'étoiles Tour and a stadium tour passing through Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Lausanne and especially the Stade de France in Paris - Saint-Denis. “With the pandemic, we slowed down like everyone else. Since I started out at 14, it’s the first time I haven’t done any concerts for so long. I reconnected with what matters most by spending time with my children. I loved making music at my own pace. I change my phone every 5 months, so on the new one there were no emails, few calls. I was able to rest, read, look at nature, simply take my time,” explains the 42-year-old rapper to Le Parisien, mentioning having drawn his inspiration from the 80s: from La boum to Stranger Things, via Club Dorothée, Bioman or even the songs of Jean-Jacques Goldman. “From La Boum to The Lion King! That’s my adolescence. Choosing this period also means making a link with the younger generation, like my daughter’s, who finds all this culture fresh and stylish,” says Soprano, who tried to weave a thread between the 80s and 2020 with his new songs. While waiting for the release of his album Chasseur d'étoiles, led by the singles “Près des étoiles”, on which he samples Gold, and “Dingue”, the artist is turning up the pressure a little more on his social networks. While a special program “Soprano, retour dans les années 80” will air on Friday, September 10 on TF1, the singer has just lifted the veil on the tracklist of his record. And there are, of course, surprises! Indeed, while keeping his usual messages and values, the Marseille rapper reveals that he will pay tribute to the boy band New Kids on the Block with “NKOTB”, but also to the film Forrest Gump through the track “Forrest”, not forgetting the legend Bruce Lee, the cult film La boum as a nod to Sophie Marceau, the Disney animated film The Lion King, as well as the AB series with “Justine & Abdelkrim” and even the mythical Luc Besson film Le grand bleu, which will be shared with Mc Solaar. It will be their first collaboration on record, even though the two artists have already shared the stage several times at Les Enfoirés and even a few improvised duets on NRJ. Another event: among the 16 tracks on the standard version of Chasseur d'étoiles, Soprano will reunite with Jul, SCH and his cousin Alonzo on “Planète Mars 2021”, a tribute to the Marseille rap scene. The limited edition of the project will include two additional tracks, including “Cher Daniel”, dedicated to Daniel Balavoine.
