After establishing themselves as a sure bet on the post-punk scene with their 2019 debut album *Family Diner*, the Belgian band Sons, freshly signed to [PIAS] Recordings, is back with a second album titled *Sweet Boy*. For Sons, punk rock is above all a matter of conviction, and the band doesn't let up with this new offering. This second album is dense, sharp, rooted in tradition yet modern and powerful, it sounds like its time and bears witness to this strange period we are going through. For mixing, the trio enlisted Australian producer/mixer Michael Badger-Taweel, known for his work with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and the result is evident. *Sweet Boy* is a solid post-punk record, worthy of standing alongside the greats.
