Marimbazos De Oro, their third album and the first under the Mixto Records label, is their most ambitious and eclectic project to date. Produced by Adrian Quesada, a Grammy-nominated guitarist and proponent of psychedelic bolero, the album opens with a norteña titled "Arboledas," featuring Zac Sokolow (leader of LA LOM), before exploding into a mix of pop-punk and oi on "Sombra," which includes Spike (from Me First and the Gimme Gimmes) on backing vocals. "José Dolores" marks their very first true foray into salsa — a tribute to their father, driven by the brass section of the Bogotá salsa-punk band La Pambelé. Trish Toledo joins on the bolero "Me Olvidaste," while Quesada himself plays guitar on the first single, "Reptilio." For the first time, the band claims to tell their story in its entirety — through all the musical genres they passionately love, and not just the one they invented. A revival for longtime fans, an ideal entry point for everyone else. Whether you're slamming in a pit or dancing cumbia, there's no need to understand the lyrics to grasp the energy.
