Multidisciplinary artist Jasper Marsalis releases his debut album under the name Slauson Malone 1, "EXCELSIOR." The word "excelsior" embodies perpetual ascent. Slauson Malone 1 envisions it as a metaphorical sword, a sword that, in someone's possession, continually grows until it cleaves the Earth in a grand finale. This metaphor becomes his goal to explore all facets of masculinity with newfound clarity as he interrogates his own lived experiences through songs and movements throughout the album.
