Will Dorey (Skinshape) and Ben Bell founded Horus Records in 2013, driven by their shared passion for vintage Jamaican music. The label, initially dedicated to reissuing reggae rarities, has transformed into a space for original creation inspired by the reggae and dub sounds of the 60s and 70s. Longtime friends and collaborators, Will and Ben have been working together for over twenty years. Their deep knowledge of the genre has allowed them to collaborate with some of the most respected reggae musicians, featured on their new studio album. This entirely analog-produced record showcases their expertise and features the voices of Andy Platts, Modou Touré, and Winston Reedy. The album blends classic influences with modern visions, featuring original compositions and reimagined covers, including a reggae version of the Interstellar theme. Outside the studio, Ben co-manages the Lion Vibes store in London, while Skinshape continues his sonic explorations blending funk, psych, soul, and other styles.
