Description

SIZ is Sylvain Palis, the younger brother of the hyperactive Thoineau Palis, aka TH Da Freak, the swirling bassist of the aforementioned band, and a member of a handful of other Bordeaux-based groups. Nourished by the indie rock of the 90s, Sylvain started the SIZ project in 2016, surrounded by Quentin Plantier (drums), Rémi Lemoine (bass), and his brother Thoineau. Blind, the band's second album, delivers a saturated and massive noise rock sprinkled with pop flashes. Ten new tracks that embody, with a certain modernity, the 90s rock decade, or at least a fantasized version of it, digested by Palis. You can hear influences from both Nirvana and My Bloody Valentine, and you can also sense the influence of some more obscure bands from that era, likely discovered during late-night YouTube wanderings. Above all, this new SIZ album features irresistible compositions, with powerful riffs and horrendously catchy choruses.
