Oscillospira

Description

Explosions of theatrical progressive metal by the prolific JG Thirlwell and Swedish multi-instrumentalist Simon Steenland. Brooklyn-based composer/producer/performer JG Thirlwell (Foetus, Manorexia, Xordox), who has collaborated with artists such as Zola Jesus, Melvins, Swans, Kronos Quartet, and is the composer for the animated TV series "Archer" and "Venture Bros," teams up with Swedish multi-instrumentalist and theater music composer Simon Steensland for a new album, Oscillospira. Different yet complementary, the two creators make idiosyncratic music characterized by dramatic intensity, dark suspense, shadows and light, and sometimes breathtaking, always evocative cinematic qualities. Oscillospira is a dark chamber prog odyssey with a largely instrumental cinematic record featuring unsettling vocal parts.
