AWAKENING

Description

An album with African colors and sounds, Simon Sim's, having lived in Reunion for 17 years now, has had the opportunity to travel for music in the Indian Ocean for his DJ sets (South Africa, Mauritius, Madagascar...). This allowed him to immerse himself in this universe of percussion and sunny rhythms. Since the beginning of his DJ career in 1996, he was already oriented towards this tribal blend with House Music (a first Maxi Vinyl in 2004, Indian Spirit, Tribal House). Building on all his years as a DJ/producer, he wanted to focus on his first loves this time, and the Awakening project was born. He brought in his singer friend Luny, his musician friends Bongo on percussion, F. Gold on trumpet, Simbi Jean on guitar, Guilhem aka Fantasia on saxophone, but also Loic Painaye for his talent and universe. He was surrounded by his friends and colleagues Patrick Payet, Michael John, and Cédric Jouin (Red Richards), who did a remarkable job of bringing it all to light.
