The grand return of Silver Apples! Silver Apples is an electronic-rock-psychedelic music group formed in the 1960s in New York by Danny Taylor on drums and Simeon Coxe on a "homemade" synthesizer. Initially active in the sixties, their first single "Oscillations," released in 1968 on KAPP Records, reached the top of the Philadelphia Top 10. Encouraged by their success and progress, Simeon Coxe built a complex and untransportable machine that produced previously unknown sounds. Thus, 30 years ago, Silver Apples was already creating music that blended rock and electronic, positioning themselves as pioneers and spawning a wave of experimental electronic music in the 70s as well as indie rock in the 90s. Sometimes in the shadows, but not forgotten, Alan Vega continues to cite Silver Apples as one of his key influences. For the more discerning, this new album comes nearly 19 years after the last one hit the shelves... "Clinging to a Dream," featuring 11 new tracks on Cargo Records (UK), which we eagerly await to discover.
