GHASTLY FUNERAL THEATRE

Description

Originally released in 1997, Ghastly Funeral Theatre by the legendary Japanese band Sigh returns to Peaceville in a prestigious reissue, remastered and presented on limited marbled vinyl. A major figure in avant-garde black metal since 1989, Sigh has established itself as one of the most respected Japanese metal bands, known for its creative boldness and eclecticism. Following Infidel Art, the trio led by Mirai Kawashima pushes the boundaries of metal here with a dark, theatrical, and experimental work, blending Eastern atmospheres, horror influences, acoustic passages, and unexpected instruments like the saxophone, while maintaining a strong black metal foundation. This edition features a new master by Patrick Engel (Temple of Disharmony), created from the original DAT tapes, and includes a booklet enriched with an exclusive interview with Mirai Kawashima. A cult classic finally rehabilitated.
