When the Thrash Metal band Sodom from Munich was making noise in the city's youth centers, no one had the slightest idea of the influential, still incredible work that the band, renamed Sieges Even in 1987, would present in 1988: the first "Life Cycle". There were sophisticated heavy bands in Germany, but Mekong Delta, founded later (!), was the only one at the time to consciously use elements of progressive rock (King Crimson, Yes, etc.). On the contrary, insiders were still trying to grasp the first LP of the American band "Watchtower", which heavily influenced Dream Theater in its early days. "Life Cycle" by Sieges Even is in no way inferior to all the aforementioned groups and albums, and also impresses in terms of production. This development was already impressively demonstrated on the demo cassette "Repression And Resistance". Despite the complexity of the material, Sieges Even manages to keep the metal and thrash share so high on this album that even uninitiated listeners grasped it when the LP hit the shelves in 1988 (Steamhammer/SPV). Elements of Epic Metal even creep into the mostly overlong tracks ("Straggler Of Atlantis", "David"), whose lyrical content is far from the zeitgeist-driven textual monotony (death, devil, party). The album was produced at Karo studio by Kalle Trapp. Especially in the rock and metal circles of the late 80s, he was a sought-after man. "Life Cycle" holds a special status in the discography of this special Munich band, because the thrash part already decreased with the successor and over the years, also with the successor band Subsignal, they began to target other audiences. Moreover, the distinctive voice of Franz Herde only appears on the band's first two albums. Until now, this classic was actually only available in the 1988 LP or CD version and as a used product.
